Dear BBQ Team:
Thank you for making our past 27 years what we know to be as a GREAT
success. Our GREAT success is due to our teams and the cooperation
shown throughout the 27 years of this event. We know we have one of
the best BBQ contests around. We have made our purse bigger this
year than ever before. We would like for you, the participants, to
help us make this years celebration our largest contest ever.
We are constantly striving to improve the event. We listen to you!
You have asked for cash prizes in the ancillary contest; we are
awarding for the first time this year cash prizes in the ancillary
contest in access of $1,600. We have increased our overall purse to
more than $10,000. We will be adding nightly entertainment either by
you or by a surprise celebrity(s). We hope that with these and other
additions, along with our regular entertainment and the BBQ Contest
itself that the attendance will be even better than last year.
The BBQ contest will be at the regular location – on the RV park at
the Agricenter at Walnut Grove Road and Germantown Parkway. As usual
we are on Father’s Day Weekend – June 12-14. We had great attendance
on Thursday night last year and look forward to the same again this
year.
Remember we are a charitable organization – the more money we make,
the more we can give to our annual chosen charity – this year the
Alzheimer’s Association. Last year we gave over $4,000 to the local
Alzheimer’s Association. Help us to raise more for them this year.
We would love to see all our old teams and new teams to help make
this year the biggest year ever. Please call your old friends and
new friends and encourage them to come out this year. We will do our
best to make them feel welcome and have a GREAT time.
Once we have accepted your application and money, we will send you a
confirmation packet and e-mail, if you have given us a proper e-mail
address. Get your money in early, before May 14th and qualify for the
“Early Bird Special” and add 20% additional prize money.
